BECOMING A FAMILY:

Why do we love family so much? Why do we go to see our children and grandchildren play sports and do other functions? Why do we have such a desire to love our family? It is who we are. We are created in the image of God and God loves His children enough to send Jesus to die on the cross for our sins just so we have an avenue to get to heaven because He wants all his children in heaven with Him. Jesus when asked by the Pharisees what is the greatest commandment, Jesus said it was to love God with all your heart, soul and strength. Jesus could have stopped there because that was the greatest commandment, but Jesus went on to say and the second is also important. Love others as yourself.

The whole world is looking for love and the best place to find love should be in God's house. The church should be a place of sanctuary and love. People who are looking to find God should definitely find God inside of the church walls. How does the church accomplish this task. By loving others just as Jesus loves us. Putting others before our own needs. Church if you have not noticed God has truly been blessing us here at DeGraff. The church is full most Sundays. New people coming to see what God is doing here. You are doing an amazing job of making them feel welcome, but as always I am challenging you to step up your game. As new attendees arrive to check out what we are doing I am asking you as church members to step up your game. Be alert to new people as they walk in. Go introduce yourself and then introduce them to someone else. Ask them to sit with you. Ask about them. Who are they, what bought them to DeGraff and definitely invite them to return. These new people are potential new family members. Is that not exciting. God is sending us more and more family to love. His family and he is trusting us to show His love to them.

NEW ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY IS COMING TO DEGRAFF:

I am excited to report we are stepping up our technology at DeGraff. My sermons are being recorded now and can be found on the church facebook and Pastor Kurt Spivey's facebook. We have placed a big screen TV on the front wall to post our songs and other information onto the big screen. If you have not friended Pastor Kurt or our church on facebook I encourage you too do so. Lots of encouraging information is being posted both places.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL COMING TO BURNS:

On June 01, 2026 to June 05, 2026 our church is hosting with the other churches in Burns at the Burns Community Center. Great time for your children to have a great time of fun and fellowship and learn valuable information about God in the process. All are welcome to attend. Contact Pastor Kurt if you are interested. 

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:

We have several opportunities to serve this month. Come enjoy good fellowship and love while we serve God together. This month we have the opportunities to serve at Family Worship Center on June 02, 2026 and June 04, 2026 packing food boxes and distributing them. There a African Mission Night where we build cross necklaces for missions. It is 06/24/26 at 6:30PM at the DeGraff Community Church.   You all are welcome.

PASTOR’S CHALLENGE: The Pastor's challenge this month is for each member to step out of their comfort zones and ask God to use you in any way God desires. Then be obedient to the call.
