TIME AND TIME AGAIN

As I read through the old testament I see time and time again God would become angry with the Israelite people. Time and time again they would turn away from God and follow other Gods. Time and time again God would punish those people and time and time again God would forgive their disobedience and bring them back to Him. God had so much patience with them. Does God still today have the same patience with us for our disobedience? Let's see what the Bible says about that. In Hebrews 13:8 it says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. In Revelations 1:8 it says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

How patient has God been with you? With me I cannot even start to list the times God has been patient with me. And time and time again God has bought me back to the understanding He has a wonderful life planned out just for me. He planned it before I was even born. I am the one who walked away to follow other plans and dreams. Things I thought would make me happy. Time and Time again I was not happy. I searched and searched and found only one thing to be true. Real everlasting happiness comes from God and is God. All the fruits of the spirit can only be found in God. Galatians 5: 22-23 states, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. These wonderful things we search for, love, joy, peace and all the other great fruits are only found in God. Why do we act like the Israelite people. Why do we turn away from God and seek happiness in places it will never be found.

My fruits of the spirit I have found. They are in serving God and serving others. As I have moved my life to serve God and others I have found that me does not really exist anymore and because it is not about me, I am not getting in the way with my our stupidity anymore. I can tell you joy comes from serving, but you really have to experience it yourself to truly believe.

DEGRAFF CHURCH CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

DeGraff Community Church will host our Annual Christmas Eve Service on December 24, 2025 at 6:00PM at the church. If you have never attended a Christmas Eve Service you are missing a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Christ. Great opportunity to bring guests with you and enjoy a wonderful evening of music and stories.

BEGGARMAN MINISTIRES FUNDRAISER

Beggarman Ministries is hosting a fundraiser event at Hope Church just off the turnpike in Andover, Kansas on November 30, 2025 at 5:00PM. The event includes a concert and free meal for all. You are encouraged to become a supporter, but never ever is there pressure to give. Our church supports Beggarman and the work they do and would encourage all who can come and attend this event. You will not be disappointed.

BEGGARMAN MINISTRIES THANKSGIVING CELEBRATE

DeGraff Community Church is hosting their annual thanksgiving meal on November 16, 2025 right after church. Joining us this year is Beggarman Ministries house. The men from the house will join us for the meal and Eric Hauck will come and do our service that day with both music and testimonies. It should be a glorious time for praising and thanking the Lord.

COMMUNITY WIDE THANKSGIVING

The Community Wide Thanksgiving meal this year is on November 22, 2025 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at the 4-H Building in El Dorado, Kansas. Our church is in charge of the to go serving line and we will start work at 10:00AM on that day. All who can help please contact Pastor Kurt. Our church is also in charge of dinner rolls to feed approx 500-700 people. Let Pastor Kurt know if you can supply some of those rolls for that day.

DINING WITH DIGNITY

We will be doing our Dining with Dignity Event at Union Rescue Mission at 4500 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas at 4:45PM on December 10, 2025. If you have never worked one of these events you are truly missing out on a huge blessing. We as a church go in and serve the evening meal to approx 80-100 homeless men. This one is our Christmas event and we give Christmas gifts to each man. Santa and Mrs. Claus are there and it is a grand time. Come join us.

 

PASTOR’S CHALLENGE: The Pastor's challenge this month is to thank God in a special prayer. Pray to God in a special prayer thanking him for all your blessing in your life.
