Why do we all enjoy a good hero movie or story? What makes a hero a hero? Have you ever thought about those two questions. Heroes are people who when presented a situation in front of them they chose to do what is right and act. Many times they will put their own life in danger to do the right thing. I most hero situations lives are saved or changed in the process. In most hero situations the hero put others needs in front of their own needs.

There is story after story of war heroes. Soldiers who put their self in danger to save the lives of others. There is many stories of heroes entering burning buildings to save the people inside. 911 had many firefighters and police officers who died because they was running into a building ready to collapse to save the many who had not got out. Heroes are people who through a brave act puts others before themselves.

My greatest hero story of all time was Jesus Christ. Jesus came down to earth from the safety of being in heaven. He came for a great purpose. Jesus came to save the souls of many, many people at the cost of his own life. Jesus willing allowed himself to be arrested for crimes he knew he was innocent of. He allowed himself to be beat and tormented for things he did not do. Then nailed him to the cross for those crimes we were all guilty of but him. Why did Jesus do all of this. Because his love for us all was greater than the love for himself. Jesus went through all of that pain and death to save us from our sins. Jesus saved the entire world with his blood. We just have to accept that truth and believe God sent Jesus for us to be saved.

Why do people reject that truth? Good question. You do not see people who have been saved from a burning building run back into the building. You do not see people who have been pulled from the water who was drowning jump back into the water, but we will reject Jesus and his saving grace of the cross.

Here is the bottom line of my post today. Jesus did come and die on that cross. Jesus did take all of your punishment for you on the cross and came to save you from your sins. Because he rose again in three days and is now in heaven preparing you a place in his kingdom. All you have to do is accept his saving grace by believing all of this is true.

When you truly accept this truth about Jesus and follow Jesus to safety Jesus will show you a whole new way to live your life. A better way, a right way. Following Jesus leads to true love, joy and peace you have never known because you have never experienced Jesus. Many who read this post will say that crazy Pastor Kurt is at it again. He is trying to change my life and he is into my business again. But the truth is this. I am trying to show you my hero. Jesus saved me when I was lost and hopeless. Jesus saved me when I did not deserve to be saved. Jesus showed me this way of living my life that I had missed all along my path. Now that I know my hero I will never stop following him. I will follow him until he takes me home to be with him. I want all of you to come join me there. Let Jesus be your hero too. God loves you all so very much and so do I.
